How We Built iLoveMyFile: 110+ Free PDF, Image & Developer Tools That Run in the Browser

People convert, compress, merge and sign files every day, but most online file tools come with the same problems:

• Files have to be uploaded to an unknown server, which is a privacy risk for personal and business documents
• Sign-up walls, daily limits and watermarks on the output
• Slow uploads and downloads, especially for large PDFs and photos on mobile data
• Separate websites for PDF, image, developer and SEO jobs
• Cluttered pages full of ads that are hard to use on a phone

The goal was to build one clean platform where anyone can finish everyday file jobs quickly, for free, without their files ever leaving their device.

That meant solving a hard technical problem: doing heavy work such as PDF compression, OCR, background removal and image upscaling inside the browser, with no server-side processing.

Privacy-First, In-Browser Processing

Almost every tool runs entirely on the visitor's device using JavaScript and WebAssembly. Files are never uploaded, so the tools are private by design, fast, and cheap to run at scale.

Complete PDF Toolkit (32 tools)

Merge, split, compress, rotate, crop, organize, sign, redact, protect, unlock and repair PDFs, plus conversions such as PDF to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, JPG and Markdown, and Word, Excel, HTML and images to PDF. Built with PDF-lib, PDF.js and QPDF (WebAssembly).

AI Tools That Run on the Device

• Remove Background: an AI segmentation model running with ONNX Runtime Web, so photos never leave the device
• Image Enhancer: AI upscaling (Real-ESRGAN) in the browser
• OCR PDF & Image OCR: turns scanned pages into searchable, copyable text with Tesseract.js
